The Lakota West football program found out who will it face in the 2011 Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown when the schedule was released on Thursday, June 2. The Firebirds will face Winton Woods (10-2 overall, 5-0 in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference in 2010) on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 2:45 p.m. at University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium.
The Firebirds’ second opponent in the fall of 2011 will be Elder, who will also participate in the Crosstown Showdown. The Panthers will play at Centerville Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. before visiting Lakota West Sept. 2.
Fellow Greater Miami Conference programs, such as Oak Hills, Middletown and Colerain will also participate in the Crosstown Showdown.
Oak Hills will face La Salle Aug. 26 at 8:30 p.m. at Nippert, Middletown will face 2010 Division I state runner-up Wayne Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at University of Dayton’s Welcome Stadium and Colerain will host Cocoa (Fla.) Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. The Colerain game will be televised on ESPNU.

Sept. 2 – vs. Elder (4-5 overall, 1-2 in Greater Catholic League)
Sept. 9 – at Anderson (8-2 overall, 4-1 in Fort Ancient Valley Conf.)
Sept. 16 – at Princeton (3-7 overall, 1-6 in GMC)
Sept. 23 – vs. Oak Hills (4-6 overall, 2-5 in GMC)
Sept. 30 – at Middletown (10-1 overall, 7-0 in GMC)
Oct. 7 – vs. Colerain (11-1 overall, 7-0 in GMC)
Oct. 14 – vs. Hamilton (7-4 overall, 5-2 in GMC)
Oct. 21 – at Sycamore (6-4 overall, 4-3 in GMC)
Oct. 28 – at Lakota East (3-7 overall, 2-5 in GMC)
This past fall, the Firebirds complied a 3-7 overall record and 2-5 mark within the GMC.
