Returning to the hardcourt this winter for the Thunderhawks will be seniors Cameron Lee, Jalen Goodwin, R.J. Leppert, Mike Boyd, Jeff Cargill and Brian Evans.
Lakota East head coach Wally Vickers credits the experience of his seniors to be the strength of the team.
“This team has the ability to win consistently,” Vickers said of his experienced squad.
Goodwin is the Thunderhawks top returning scorer. Last season, he averaged 11.6 points, 2.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Lee (9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game), Leppert (4.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3 assists per game) and Cargill (6-foot-8, 2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game) saw quality minutes last season.
Lakota East also returns players, who excelled as underclassmen, in Mark Minch, who averaged 8.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season, and Rob Harpring, who averaged 3.4 points per game as a freshman.
Vickers also expects newcomer Allante Foster (junior) and sophomore Stedman Lowry to make an impact this winter.
Lakota East will begin its season Friday, Nov. 26, at Moeller at 7:30 p.m. The Thunderhawks will have their home opener against Princeton Dec. 7.
