Late last month, West Chester Township announced during its board of trustees meeting that it would have its trick-or-treat celebration on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Not only did the board decided to schedule this year’s trick or treat, they also unanimously agreed to make Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the annual date and time for trick or treating in West Chester.
“Instead of coming back every year would the board just like to make a motion that it establishes trick or treat on Oct. 31, the date of Halloween, from 6 to 8 p.m.?” West Chester Township Administrator Judith Boyko asked the board during a September meeting.
Boyko also said “in the 18 years” she had been working in the township, the board had “never diverted from Halloween as the trick-or-treat date.”
A future board can change this agreement, but it appears trick or treating will always take place on the same date and at the same time every fall.
For residents, family and friends celebrating in Liberty Township, the trick-or-treat time is also from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Sunday.
